Our Story

Mill Creek Pub grows from the roots of its community. Its rustic environment is reminiscent of the historic Battle Ground area mills. Inspired by Cedar Creek Gristmill and the industry it served, the ambiance will make you appreciate your own nostalgia.

Inside the front door, you can imagine timbers creaking underfoot as you pass through the covered bridge. The working water wheel and flume provide sound and movement that murmur generations of memories. Heavy timbers rescued from local buildings frame your journey into the past. With purposeful subtlety, rough-hewn lumber, well-aged barn metal and a tasty and varied selection of comfort food integrate to create a heartwarming place. The atmosphere is thoughtfully suited for business meetings, lunch with friends, family dinners or romantic dates as well as appetizers and drinks in the evening.

Mill Creek Pub's design was by no means accidental. Russell teamed up with remodel expert Dan Davis to bring all the elements together, resulting in the winner of the 2012 Top Project Best Remodel. The welcoming entrance is inspired by the covered bridge leading to Cedar Creek Grist Mill. Russell's vision emerged while overhearing a debate about the mill's source of power. Turbine or wheel was the question – evidently, Russell preferred the water wheel, as it was certainly more romantic than a turbine. If you have any historic connection to this area, we hope you recognize the feeling of being at home. If you are visiting, welcome! Russell Brent and his family-like staff provide food, drink and service that will make you want your visit to last longer.

Enjoy, linger, and return.
